Stunning 1930’s classic American cottage house with architecturally designed upgrades, bringing you the charm of the old world and comforts of the new, just minutes from Lake Michigan’s famous dunes of “singing sand” beaches.

The Grounds and Beach

Resting upon a beautifully landscaped acre of lawn, mature trees and gardens, Colleen’s cottage is an easy five minute stroll to Lake Michigan’s gorgeous beachfront. Campfires, s’mores and storytelling are warmly encouraged.

Beach Access:

  2. McKinley Beach: 1 short block from cottage down sandy road
  3. Town Line Road Beach: 4 block walk. Limited Parking; good drop off point
  4. Center/Goodwin Beach No Parking; good drop off point
  5. Berrien Road Beach 6 blocks away, no stairs, sandy sloping access.
  6. Warren Dunes State Park – 6 miles north of Union Pier
  7. Cherry Beach
  8. You will receive a “Resident’s Pass” to Cherry Beach which is 3.5 miles north off Lakeshore Road and Red Arrow Highway. Free parking.

Where is the nearest beach?

McKinley Street Beach, one of Lake Michigan’s wide pristine beaches, is just one short block along a sandy road from Colleen’s Cottage. You can walk the beach for countless miles in either direction. Or never move from your beach towel except to turn over. You can, after a long sun filled day on the beach, shower in the outdoor shower and return to the beach for a glass of wine and a toast to the spectacular sunsets. See the “green flash” you have heard about some nights. See the mirage of the city of Chicago across the lake on special nights.
